A new addition to my garden: Dahlia...Grande Red

Well, I best get started before another day passes by! Wednesday was cloudy with a cool wind blowing while I stood looking out the kitchen window looking at the new plants I had bought earlier when my brain went into macro mode. The Dahlia had a couple of blooms fully open and I new these would be past their best in a couple of days so, out came my Olympus E500 with 35mm macro lens attached and off into the garden I went. After setting my camera up and getting the tripod as close as I wanted along came some massive black clouds robbing me of so much light that I had to resort to using my ring light which gave the flowers that lovely golden glow complimenting delicious red of the petals. I like to fire off about ten shots adjusting the focus with each shot which would garentee at least one or two to be in pretty good focus.
So here we are, two shots that I hope you'll like. Suns out today and it's all warmed up....time to get planting!!
Have a great day and thank you for taking the time to stop by!!
